BEST PUPPY IN SHOW, BEST IN SHOW, RESERVE BEST IN SHOW & BEST PUPPY DOG

It was a pleasure to judge this show and I thank the committee for inviting me. I was very pleased with the quality of the entry and with my final line-up.

Veteran Dog 3(1abs)
1st Grant’s Gransil Black Jack - Lovely B/T dog, 10 years old, moved with purpose showing all the time, good top-line, warm dark eyes and good rich tan markings defying his age. Well proportioned masculine head. Lovely overall size and shape.
2nd Owen’s Parkwall Lewis - Blenheim 10.5 years old. Well proportioned dog, but did not have the movement of 1. Well presented in good condition.

Minor Puppy Dog 5
1st Leach’s Ouzelwell Lord Chamberlain - Very nice blenheim puppy, well bodied, moved well. Held a level top-line moving and standing. Lovely dark eyes, super pigment, balanced nicely proportioned head right for age, with good expression. Rich tan on white background with correct textured silky coat. Lovely shape in outline.
2nd Price’s Ouzelwell Viceroy - Litter brother to 1. A little smaller and of different proportions to his brother. Super pigment on nose and eye rims. Well constructed dog just lost out a little on overall balance.
3rd Gillhespy’s Lorphil Lost Love

Puppy Dog 4 (2abs)
1st Richardson’s Kringleholme Ovation - An 11 month old blenheim of good construction, nice tail-set, in lovely coat, well schooled and presented. Well bodied with time to mature on. Super pigment, lovely gentle expression . Moved well holding a level topline on the move and standing. BPD
2nd Bloice’s Scotlass The Love Bug A blenheim boy who was not on his best behaviour making it difficult to assess him. A very well developed head with good pigment to nose and eyes. Not the gentle expression of 1. Needs to move on a loose lead, pulling against the lead spoilt his topline.

Junior Dog 2
1st Waddington’s Spindlepoint John Peel. This was a tough class but this boy won on his compact shape. Well made boy, of good coat colour. Lovely reach of neck giving him that little bit of extra elegance. Moved true, with drive and holding a level topline. Has a little more substance than 2. Good pigment, lovely dark eyes giving that soft melting expression. One I will watch with interest.
2nd Sheard’s Almondine Goodwill. - Most of what is said about 1 is true of this lovely blenheim boy. He needs a little more time to fill out, and is slightly longer cast. He has a lovely head and good construction. It really was a difficult choice.

Maiden Dog. 2
1st Bloice’s Scotlass the Love Bug As for earlier class. Had not settled in this class and won on his more compact shape and make.
2nd Lister’s Cachevell Dance in my Shadow. - A lovely blenheim with good shape and lovely neck. Could use a little more body. Head is pleasing and with good expression.

Novice Dog 3
1st Townsend’s Broganzor Santorini - Lovely, lively blenheim dog. Strong head, well proportioned and with good pigment to nose and eyes. Liked his expression. Another that may benefit from moving on a loose lead, assessing movement was difficult but moved well. Well constructed with good front and rear angulation, good shoulders, not too long in the loin, lovely length to neck. Very pleasing outline.
2nd Smith’s Beaudale Carnelian - Ruby of lovely shape and size. Well constructed. Pleasing expression, good size of eye and well cushioned under the eyes. Moved true but not with the drive of 1.
3rd Hannam’s Cachevell Rock On Tommy

Graduate Dog 4 (2abs)
1st Leach’s Clopsville Sazerac at Ouzlewell - Black and tan boy with good colour of tan in all the right places and ebony black coat in good condition. Less coated than 2nd placed dog, but just preferred overall make and shape . Well balanced, short coupled dog. Pleasing head, good reach of neck and level topline. Held topline on the move and moved out well.
2nd Owen’s Parkwall Black Jack - Another black and tan of different type to 1. Longer cast and little more up on the leg. Head pleasing but with a little more muzzle, good dark eyes. In good coat. Not quite the overall balance and compact shape of 1.

Special Post Graduate Blenheim or Tricolour. 6 (2abs)
1st Baker’s Nevhills Navarro - Super tri, well marked and full of type. Perfect size, lovely head, dark eyes giving the desired soft expression, well sprung ribs, short coupled, firm level topline both standing and moving. Stood 4 square naturally. Just loved him. Showed well and took Reserve Best Dog and R.B.I.S.
2nd Renaud’s Ellenaud Harry Potter - Blenheim of good size and compact shape. Good length to ears framing a masculine but gentle head, with super black nose and black eyeliner to the eyes. Good size and colour of eyes. Well coated with good rich tan on clean white background. Well presented.
3rd Sheard & Price’s Almondene Endeavour

Special Post Graduate Dog Black & Tan or Ruby 4 (1abs)
1st Bailey’s Aldoricka Uriah - Black and tan with most appealing head and expression. Rich tan markings on raven black background, coat in lovely condition, giving a finished picture. Moved out well with drive from rear.
2nd Leach’s Clopsville Sazerac at Ouzlewell - see comments from Graduate class. This handsome boy did not quite have the head of 1st placed in this class.

Limit Dog 5 (2 abs)
1st Baker & Park’s Keyingham Zacharias - Super looking blenheim presented in excellent condition. Coat with rich tan on pearly white background. Good nose pigment, black rims to large dark melting eyes, all set in a lovely soft masculine head. Ears of good length, well feather and setting off that handsome head. Good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Well angulated front and rear, moved out positively with drive.
2nd Sheard & Price’s Almondene Endeavour - Blenheim with lovely head shape, good expression. Super coat, in good condition with rich tan colour. Moved out well, with drive. Presented a lovely picture moving and standing, showing well for owner. Just not quite the overall construction of 1 for me.
3rd Sigsworth’s Judyland Magical at Hollylou.

Open Dog 6
1st Rix & Berry’s Ellisiana Crusader for Ricksbury - Lovely shaped blenheim dog with a super neck, lovely crest that gives added elegance to the outline. Nice clean lines, well boned without being heavy, good angulation front and rear and well placed shoulders. Level topline held on the move, moved out well, expertly handled. There was an overall balance to this dog from head properties to tail. Head is gentle yet masculine, length of muzzle within standard, eyes are well pigmented, large and dark, giving that melting expression. Pigment is good. Presentation was first class winning him BIS.
2nd Bakers Nevhill’s Roosevelt - What a lovely class this was, two super blenheims. Loved this dog for his quality, stronger in head than 1 and a little longer in the back. Well presented, in excellent coat of good length and texture. Moved out well and showed with enthusiasm throughout. A hard decision.
3rd Crossley’s Lanola Tango.

Veteran Bitch 4 (2 abs)
1st Sandlan’s Arenkote Quickstep - Lovely 7 yr old blenheim, moving out well, good head carriage, lovely elegant shape on the move and standing, showing off her lovely neck and shoulders. Appealing head with lovely dark, soft eyes. Best Veteran.
2nd Mowatt’s Lorphil Lucianna - Also 7 yrs old, blenheim, showing well, not quite the reach of neck of 1, but also presenting a good outline.

Minor Puppy Bitch 8 (2abs)
1st Whitfields Bevelmount Madelaine - What a super blenheim puppy, sweetest of heads, lovely black pigment to nose, expressive dark eyes. Loved the shape and quality make of this puppy, she moved well, and was in balance. Short to the hock, stood 4 square, with lovely level topline, good neck and shoulders. Well presented. One I will watch for the future – Best Puppy in Show.
2nd Inglis’ Craigowl Lolita - Another nice puppy, tri-colour, well broken, cleanly marked. A little different in type to 1, shorter on the leg. Cobby body, moved out well. Presented in excellent condition and will be another one to watch for the future.
3rd Hoyle’s Barcris Sparkling Rainbow

Puppy Bitch 12 (5abs)
1st Grant’s Granasil Classic Gold - Lovely short coupled bitch of good type. Lovely softness to her expression, which was completed with large dark eyes and good pigment. Good neck and shoulders, well turned stifle and good topline. Moved out well and gave a very balanced picture overall.
2nd Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Royal Emerald - Another lovely blenheim puppy, more mature than 1. A little longer cast, well constructed and very well presented. Just preferred the head and movement of 1.
3rd Richardson’s Kringleholme Applause

Junior Bitch 4 (1abs)
1st Waddington’s Spindlepoint Grace Darling - Nice sized blenheim, lovely cobby body, well sprung ribs. Good coat of silky texture. Lovely rich tan and clean white makings, good wide white collar showing off her neck. Sweet, very feminine expression coming from her well shaped head, with dark lustrous eyes, good pigment and well placed ears which she used to great effect. Correct outgoing temperament and very attentive to her owner. Moved well but is inclined to pull a little on the lead, giving handler a hard time.
2nd Hindle’s Ellisiana Song Lark - A close decision between this lovely blenheim girl and 1. This girl is also very well made and much of what is said about 1 can apply to this girl. The deciding factor was on personal preference for the shape of 1 over 2.
3rd Bull’s Craigowl Biba at Ladash

Maiden Bitch 8 (2abs)
1st Grant’s Granasil Classic Gold - See Puppy Bitch class.
2nd Gillhespy’s Virgloshimee Virginia - 8 month old very sweet tricolour with time on her side. Showed well in this class. Well broken markings with lots of lovely rich tan. Presented in good condition. Nice size, lovely shape and balance. Happy outgoing puppy that moved well.
3rd Grant’s Granasil Cast a Shadow

Novice Bitch 3 (1abs)
1st Leach’s Rhienvelt Raven Simone at Ouzlewell - Black & tan, nice size and shape. Good coat, with the black gleaming, good tan markings. Well turned stifle, level topline and good tail set. Nice head type, very feminine. Moved out well with drive.
2nd Renaud’s Ellenaud Beatrix Potter - Longer cast blenheim with pretty head, lovely large dark eyes and good expression. Good reach of neck. Tendency to move close in to handler at the front, bringing rear out, losing the parallel movement.

Graduate Bitch 9 (4abs)
1st Inglis’ Craigowl Columbia - Very attractive tri , lovely outline, good length to neck and good balance throughout. Lovely head, sweet expression, with super markings, rich tan over eyes, on cheeks and inside ears. Coat of good texture, straight and in glossy condition. Well toned firm body with good angulation to the rear, well turned stifles. Moved with drive and holding level topline. Presented in super condition and showing enthusiastically.
2nd Townsend’s Broganzor Face Value - Pretty short coupled blenheim. Lovely dark eyes, good length of neck giving that touch of elegance. Moved well and was presented in good condition. Not quite the coat and finish of 1st placed in this class today.
3rd Mowatt’s Asmena Sugar N Spice

Special Post Graduate Bitch – Blenheim or Tricolour 5 (3 abs)
1st Hindle’s Ellisiana Shantung - Lovely shaped blenheim, well balanced, with well broken markings, good colour of tan on pearly white background. Presented in good condition. Very sweet expression with lovely melting eyes, good head properties, well feathered and well placed ears, good neck leading to good shoulder placement. Well sprung ribs with plenty of room for heart, firm topline and well bodied. Moved with drive.
2nd Bull’s Craigowl Biba at Ladash - Well made tri bitch in good coat. Longer cast than 1st placed. Well boned and with a strong head. Lovely rich tan markings on head. Moved with drive, but quite not as true as 1st placed.

Special Post Graduate Bitch - Black & Tan or Ruby 4 (1 abs)
1st Smith’s Beaudale Ebony Eyes - Lovely headed b/t in good coat. Moved out well, lovely typey bitch, good shape and outline, lovely tail carriage. Good earset, with good length of feathering, framing a sweet, well cushioned head with lovely warm dark eyes, so hard to resist. The tan is rich chestnut set in shining ebony black adding to the overall picture. RBB.
2nd Leach’s Rhienvelt Raven Simone at Ouzlewell - Also winner of Novice class. Just preferred the overall finish of 1st and the richer colouring to the tan.
3rd Grant’s Gransil Ring of Fire

Limit Bitch 7 (2 abs)
1st Inglis’ Craigowl Bilberry - Tricolour, presenting a super outline. Lovely head, with gentle, very feminie experssion, with eyes to swim in, with a melting depth and warmth. Well bodied, good firm topline, good angulation and moved out well with drive. Coat straight and silky, good clean markings, and overall presentation first class. BB and BOS.
2nd Whitfield’s Beauella Kasino at Bevelmount - Blenheim with lovely rich tan markings. Nice size, short coupled giving good overall shape. Lovely head with good pigment, huge dark eyes and very sweet expression, framed by well placed ears. Moved well.
3rd Richardson’s Kringleholme Cheery

Open Bitch 3
1st Grant’s Gransil Winter Star - Sweet ruby, of good overall shape, short coupled, good rear quarters. Head well cushioned around muzzle and under eyes. Moved smartly round the ring. Good rich colour to coat and in good condition. Possibly carrying a little extra weight.
2nd Bull’s Gransil Ladybird at Ladash - Blenheim up to size. Good angulation, good coat, well broken marking with lovely rich tan. Well presented. Head not as finished as 1st, needs a little more cushioning to give the desired soft expression.
3rd Scanlon’s Barcris Sparkling Starlite over Brantwood.

Brace 2 (1abs)
1st Scanlon - Nice pair of blenheims, well matched, moving together well.
