JUDGES CRITIQUE
It was an honour to be invited to judge this prestigious Club show, and I was blessed with so many lovely bitches to go over – which brought to mind the old adage “the strength of the kennel is in the bitches”, so this should bode well for the future of our lovely breed.
Veteran (10)
1 Rollins & Poundford’s Poundroll Ffatall Charm
Very spritely well broken Blenheim, shown in full coat and sparkling condition,
sweet head, large dark eyes and gentle expression, so typical of the Cavalier.
Body of correct proportion, she moved with style and dignity holding a dead
level topline and correct tail carriage – a lovely bitch who carried her
12 years lightly and is a credit to her breeders.
2. Waters’ Ch. Maibee Delicious
Another beautiful quality well broken Blenheim who is an old favourite of mine.
Lovely head of correct type, well made firm short coupled body and good angulation,
another who carried her years lightly, very close up to the winner.
3. Scotts’ Toscam Monte Lucia
Minor Puppy (19,3a)
1. Scotts’ Lorphil La Liberte
Very pretty little cobby baby with good bone for her ideal size. Feminine head
with large eyes and dense pigment. Nice length of neck and shoulder placement,
she moved with drive keeping a level topline – very promising.
2. Powell’s Margareith Mona Lisa
Another promising puppy of a similar make and shape, attractive head framed
by long full ears – short couples body – she showed and moved well.

Puppy (25,5a)
1. Godwin’s Cavaliegh Innocence.
Enchanting 10 month old well broken Blenheim shown in lovely bloom and condition.
Feminine head with large round eyes and dense pigment, excellent reach of neck
and shoulder placement, deep firm body and strong well let down quarters, she
showed enthusiastically keeping a level topline and tail carriage, a lovely
puppy who was a well deserved Best Puppy in Show.
2. Vella’s Cinderlace Honey
Another very promising puppy who was close to the winner. Lovely head with expression
dark eyes, well fringed ears and the bonus of a perfect spot. Good reach of
neck and firm cobby body, she moved with drive and purpose.
3. Turnbull’s Peakdowns Skye
Junior (13, 4a)
1. Mynott’s Honeybet Hot N’Sassy.
Well broken richly coloured, shown in perfect coat and condition. Lovely head
with large eyes, excellent pigment, frames by large very full ears, excellent
reach of crested neck and shoulder placement, firm well ribbed body and strong
quarters, she moved with drive and purpose keeping a level topline at all times.
2. Claydon’s Charwelton Magical Maiden of Brymarden
Very pretty richly coloured, but more heavily marked, sweet head with the bonus
of a perfect lozenge. Body of good proportions, she moved with drive, another
with a perfect backline.
3. Moulden’s Whitecroft Sweetheart.
Yearling (18,4a)
1. Barker’s Kaishmar Cassandra
Stylish, young, richly coloured Blenheim made on elegant lines, lovely head
with large dark eyes and dense pigment, nice length of neck and correctly placed
shoulders, cobby body and well let down quarters, Very sound moving, she was
perfectly presented and shown to advantage.
2. Jones’ Timsar Miss D’Fying
Eye-catching Blenheim of quality of a similar type to the winner, shapely head
with round eyes neat muzzle, frames by long correctly placed ears. Firm body
with strong quarters, she moved and showed happily keeping a level backline
at all times, very reminiscent of her dam who was a great favourite of mine.
3. Hurst & Wake’s Llustant Lunar Belle JW.
Graduate (14,4a)
1. Eustace’s Salegreen Dear Sweet Pea.
Aptly names, silky coated and well broken Tri, with a lovely head and large
dark expressive eyes, very rich tan highlights, and the longest of correctly
place ears, nice reach of neck and clean shoulders, deep cobby body and strong
quarters, she moved correctly both ways.
2. Bartlett’s Korolevsky Oksana JW
Richly coloured little Blenheim with a very feminine head and kindly outlook,
well ribbed cobby body, she moved happily keeping a level topline.
3. Darley’s Kaidee Krista.
Postgraduate (12,3a)
1. Cunningham’s Verheyen Tulip
I thought that this lovely richly coloured and nicely broken Blenheim stood
out for type and quality. Her well presented silky coated gleamed with condition,
classic head shape with a sweet open expression, the darkest of round eyes,
clear evenly marked face and neat muzzle, all frames by the longest of correctly
placed ears. Good reach of crested neck and well laid shoulders, firm well ribbed-back
body, and strong well let down quarters. She moved with style and grace really
covering the ground whilst keeping a level backline and proudly carried head.
She presented a balanced picture at all times, a true Toy Spaniel and it was
a great pleasure to award her the CC, and with the full agreement of my co-judge,
Sheena Maclaine, Reserve Best in Show.
2. Inglis’ Craigowl Blueberry JW
Clearly marked Tri with a beautiful head, dark lustrous eyes and rich tan highlights,
her long full ears were correctly placed. Elegant reach of neck and correct
forehand, cobby body and well angulated strong quarters, exhibited in full perfectly
presented coat, she moved correctly keeping a level backline and ‘showed
off’ her virtues with great enthusiasm – very close up to the winner
and I was delighted to award her the Reserve CC.
3. Korn’s Sandusk Chardonnay JW
Limit (14,2a)
1. Goodwin’s Lanola Move Over Darling ShCM
Richly marked Blenheim of quality with a very feminine shapely head, lovely
eyes and long ear fringes. Excellent forehand and firm deep body, she stood
four square keeping a level topline, a lovely exhibit who moved and showed happily.
2. Godwin’s Cavaliegh Morning Star
Nicely marked Blenheim made on elegant lines, her profuse coat was well presented,;
lovely head and expression, body of pleasing proportions, another who moved
with drive keeping a perfect backline – c;pse i[ tp the winner.
3. Ward’s Charalier Fancy Dress

1. Koster’s Dortmund Delyla Haran
Stylish exhibit of perfect size who moved and showed with enthusiasm, keeping
a level backline and proud head carriage at all times. Sweet feminine head with
dark eyes, rich tan highlights framed by long ears, cobby body and good length
of crested neck. Her wealth of coat gleamed with condition.
2. Oakley’s Rubynoaks Silver Slipper.
Another nice exhibit of a similar type who moved with drive and showed well.
3. North’s Jalesto’s One Vision.

1. Towse’s Miletree La Vie En Rose
Eye-catching richly coloured exhibit of quality who stood four square presenting
a balanced outline at all times. Classic head shape with large round eyes and
the sweetest expression, elegant reach of crested neck, deep cobby body and
good quarters, she moved with drive and showed off her virtues to advantage.
2. Whitefield;s Bevelmount Red Ribbons
Very feminine exhibit with a sweet head and exprerssion and shapely firm body,
shown in good coat and condition, she moved with drive keeping a level topline.

1. Coole’s Jolainey Sugar Babe
Eye-catching well marked exhibit whose coat was beautifully presented, a feminine
shapely head with large dark eyes and dense pigment, all set off by full ears
and the bonus of a perfect spot. Good neck and shoulder placement, deep body
and strong quarters, she moved with drive.
2. Watts Brymarden
Silver Moon over Jamesbonny
Neat little nicely coloured bitch who was shown in good coat and condition,
another with pleasing head properties set off with a perfect lozenge. Firm cobby
body and good quarters, she showed to advantage in this good class.
3. Lovel’s Maibee Roselyn at Lovetrac.

1. Hughes’ Loranka’s Majic Moments
Another crisply marked exhibit from this well known kennel – lovely head
sweet expression, body of good proportions, very rich tan in all the correct
places, of an idea size she moved and showed well.
2. Underwood’s Vanmarlen Strawberry Field for Ever Neddaow
More heavily marked exhibit with a pretty feminine head and dark eyes, nicely
made throughout, was giving way with maturity to the winner.
3. Walton’s Belstonbell Water Lily with Underknoll.
Breeders (5,2a)
1. Barker’s Ch. Kaishmar Cara Mia Mine
Very glamorous heavily coated and well broken 6 year old exhibit who was put
down to the minute; most beautiful head, large dark eyes and sweet expression
frames by long ears; deep firm body and good quarters, she moved soundly keeping
a dead level backline, a beautiful bitch who has always been a favourite of
mine.
2. Claydon’s Brymarden Moon Magic JW
Another Blenheim of quality and full of breed type, her richly coloured coat
shone with condition, pretty head and soundly constructed, cobby body of good
proportion, she moved and showed happily.
3. Waddington’s Spindlepoint Babich JW
Open (6,2a)
1. Hughes’ Ch. Loranka’s Sherrie Baby JW
Well know Tri of great quality of which much has already been written. I fully
appreciated all her virtues, lovely head and body of correct proportions, she
moves with drive and purpose keeping a pleasing outline at all times.
2. Flynn’s Phrenchy Pollyanne
Compact, rather heavily marked and richly coloured little Blenheim who appealed
for type, attractive head properties, dense pigment and she moved well, keeping
a dead level topline and tail carriage.
