I
would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge. Originally I
was scheduled to judge bitches in 2018, but due to the ill health of the appointed
judge, Mrs Jill Sheard, I was brought forward to 2017, get well soon Jill. Thanks
also to my able stewards John Tranter and Susan Smith who ran the ring so efficiently.
It was disappointing to find a number of undershot bites in the higher classes,
but I was delighted to find some quality youngsters and the veterans were in
great form too.
My co-judge and I were in full agreement for the final awards, the Best in Show
going to the dog Chantismere Conquistador, RBIS to the bitch Ch Ellemich I’m
A Celebrity JW, BPIS to the dog Ricksbury Poldark and BVIS to the bitch Ch Tusculana
Carmella at Embeth.
Veteran
(6,1a)
1. Rees' CH Tusculana Carmella at Embeth This 7 year old tricolour is in great
condition with good muscle tone and she moved soundly and with good driving
action. She has lovely dark round eyes, a gentle expression which can be quite
hard to find in a tricolour, dark pigment and full dentition with a scissor
bite. She had good depth of chest, a level topline , correct tailset and carriage
and turn of stifle. Pleased to award her the RCC, a worthy champion.
2. Gow's Lochbuie Teazle at Lyncraeg. Another 7 year old bitch who really drove
around the ring keeping a level topline, this time a well coated blenheim complete
with lozenge. She has an attractive head with a shallow stop, dark round eyes
and sweet expression. 3. Scott's Lorphil Lalibertie
Vintage
(2,0a)
1. Gow's Lyncraeg Hosanna It was hard to believe that this bitch was 12 years
old, she was full of beans and had super driving action on the move. She has
dark round eyes, shallow stop, good spring of rib and a flat skull.
2. Coole's Jolainey Miss Millie This 11 year old looked good in profile with
lovely dark eyes but today was not moving as well as 1.
Minor Puppy
Bitch (10,1a)
1 Hegarty's Chantismere Lavender Blue. Just 6 months on the day and what a little
sweetheart, she must have a bright future ahead of her. Almost flat skull, dark
eyes and jet black pigment and gentle expression and she is so well made, with
moderate forechest, good neck and shoulders, level topline and good angulation
at the rear.
2. Ireland's Glebeheath Jezebel at Charnel A slightly older ,more mature bitch
and again well constructed and so she moved out soundly, keeping a level topline.
She has lovely dark eyes and pigment but is slightly deeper in stop than 1.
3. Gibb-Stuart's Tanglewood Nice Ice Baby
Puppy Bitch
(17,3a)
This was a very strong class of puppies
1. Macalpine's Delhaze Dolly Daydream with Annatika. I have admired this 10
month old puppy from the ringside; she is so well balanced and has a richly
coloured blenheim coat. She has a classic head with high set ears, flat skull,
gorgeous large dark round eyes, black pigment, long ear leathers and correct
mouth. She is well constructed with good forechest, spring of rib, lay of shoulder,
level topline and turn of stifle. I pulled her out in the challenge, but although
her tail is well set today she had a tendency to carry it a little high and
this cost her for higher awards. However her style and maturity won her best
puppy bitch.
2. Callaghan & Todd's Ellemich Parisienne at Callyspride. This is a heavier
marked blenheim complete with lozenge, with dark round eyes and pigment and
a shallow stop. She has a nice neck and shoulders, level top line which she
kept on the move and good turn of stifle.
3. Richardson's Kringleholme Seruna
Junior
Bitch (12,3a)
1. Spall's Llapsttams Killer Queen. Just 13 months old this black and tan bitch
really impressed me. It was so lovely to find a whole colour who would have
looked just as good in any colour. She had a flat skull, dark round eyes, dark
pigment, and correct bite. Her raven black coat was gleaming and her rich tan
markings were in the correct places. She moved soundly and kept her level top
line on the move. I pulled her out in the challenge for further consideration,
but she lost out on maturity.
2. Sloan's Melody Style Organdi 16 month old blenheim complete with lozenge
and full of breed type. She has a classic head with large dark round eyes, black
pigment and soft expression. She is well constructed and moves soundly but is
a little lighter in bone than I prefer.
3. Godwin's Cavaliegh Jenna
Yearling
Bitch (8,1a)
1. Sloan's Melody Style Organdi.(See 2nd in Junior)
2. Nolan's Castlewytch Jubilation for Jernito. I liked the balance and style
of this blenheim with her flat skull, dark eyes and pigment and full ears. She
moved out well but I preferred the eye size of 1.
3. Fox-Shone's Pamedna Cherie Amour
Novice
(11,4a)
1. Macalpine's Delhaze Dolly Daydream for Annatika ( see puppy).
2. Maclaine's Pennygown Ticket to Ride. Mature 18 month old blenheim of good
breed type and who was soundly made, but I would prefer slightly more neck.
3. Richardson's Kringleholme Seruna
Graduate
(9,3a)
1. Cooke's Jolainey Whizadora. Lovely breed type on this bitch with her almost
flat skull, dark round eyes and dark pigment ; she moved well but I would prefer
more animation as she did not seem really happy to be in the ring
2. Moger's Charnel Sweet Tea for Gayhalo. A well broken bitch who moved soundly
with dark eyes and pigment and a kind expression.
3. Korn's Evydal Soiree at Sandusk
Post Graduate
(10,2a)
1. Rix & Berry's Ricksbury Royal Tapestry. This 20 month old blenheim was
very out of coat but had nothing to hide as she was so well constructed with
good neck and shoulders, spring of rib and she moved with drive. She has a lovely
head with flat skull, large dark round eyes and black pigment and scissor bite.
2. Rees' Embeth Bonny Boat. A mature tricolour in full coat and with rich tan;
she moved OK but did not have the driving movement of 1.
3. Sloane's Melody style Organdi
Limit (9,3a)
1. Li's Miletree Miriam Avalcier. What a pretty head this richly coloured 22
month old blenheim has with long well feathered ears framing it. She has dark
eyes and pigment, flat skull and she moved out soundly.
2. King-Smith's Ispahan Blue Bunting This was a mature Blenheim with the most
gorgeous dark round eyes, flat skull and scissor bite.
3. Hughes' Loranka's Kiss the Stars
Special
Open Black and Tan (4,1a)
1.Owen's. Narayden Bianca. This bitch's coat gleamed in the sunshine, raven
black with rich tan markings; she had a kind expression and moved soundly.
2. Key's Kaycav Ebony Rose. This bitch was only 13 month old and so lacked the
maturity and coat of 1, but a pleasing bitch.
3. Owen's Narayden Diva Fever at Hansowens
Special
Open Ruby (4,0a)
1. Maclaine's Lochbuie Reddy for Anything. This was a mature ruby in full coat
with a flat skull, dark eyes and pigment; she moved out well keeping a level
top line.
2. Whitfield's Aristor Pink Topaz for Bevelmount. Again this was a well coated
bitch with dark eyes and pigment but not moving as well as 1 today.
3. Gow's Grajenco Macchiato at Lyncraeg
Special
Open Blenheim (6,1a)
1. Bayliss' Castlewytch Touch of Class JW. Well broken blenheim of good breed
type and with flat skull, high set ears, dark eyes and pigment; she excelled
in movement as she was so well constructed and she looked good in profile as
she was so well balanced.
2. Godwin's CH Cavaliegh Honesty. Smaller, more compact bitch who was well constructed
and moved soundly. She had dark eyes and a pretty expression but lost out to
1 on overall balance
3. Edward's Magic Charm's Witchy Woman to Delhaze (imp Norway)
Special
Open Tricolour (3,0a)
1. Hughes' Loranka's Turn the Magic on. This 2 year old tricolour had rich tan,
was small and compact, had good neck and shoulders and a soft gentle expression.
2. Parson's Lemaritz Moon Beam. Pretty bitch who moved well but not the head
or maturity of 1.
3. Scott's Toscam Mckayla
Breeders
Bitch (4,0a)
1. Chapman & Ireland's CH Ellemich I'm a Celebrity JW. Nice balance to this
quality bitch who has an almost flat skull, long well feathered ears, dark round
eyes and black pigment, scissor bite and a soft, melting expression. She has
good neck and shoulders, moderate forechest, level topline which she kept on
the move and she moved freely and elegantly. CC and RBIS
2. Owen's Hansowens' Ebony Star. Black and tan bitch with soft silky coat and
rich tan; she had dark eyes and moved OK
3. Scott's Toscam Mckayla
Open (2,0a)
1. Rix & Berry's CH Ricksbury Rumour Has It JW . I liked the balance of
this bitch with her richly marked blenheim coat, flat skull, high set ears,
large dark round eyes and scissor bite. She is soundly made and moves with drive.
2. Inglis' Craigowl Keep in Touch. A heavily marked blenheim with lots to like
such as her large dark eyes and pretty expression, lost out to 1 on overall
balance and not moving as well today.
