         Judges Critique

T hank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge this friendly show and thanks to my stewards. I had some quality dogs to go over for which I am grateful. The main winners had good mouths, clean teeth and were presented well. I found the puppy dogs to be a little on the big size. Some very nice exhibits missed out due to up and over tail carriage which spoiled their outline.

Veteran Dog (2, 1abs)
1st BVIS Mangham GARLOUCHI JUST MAGIC OF CHARNAVALE JW
8 year old blenheim moved happily around the ring keeping a level top line and good tail carriage. Kind eyes, nice head framed with lovely ear leathers. Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran in Show.

1st Knight CAROLUS DON LUCIANO
Well broken blenheim of 8 months with dark eyes giving a nice expression. Good shape moved well keeping a level top line and well carried tail.

2nd Dean ENCHANTING COMPANION QUINLEY
Another 8 month old, a tricolour with kind eyes and similar attributes to 1, just preferred the tail carriage of winner.

3rd Vandenreyt ENCHANTING COMPANION QICHENDRO

1st BPD Hindle SPINDLEPOINT DONOVAN WITH ELLISIANA
Well marked quality blenheim of 11 months. Pleasing eyes and muzzle, nice coat, good top line and tail carriage, good turn of stifle. Best Puppy Dog.

2nd Walker CARSAN XTRA SPECIAL
Honest puppy of 9 months with good expression, moved happily around the ring keeping a level top line.

Junior Dog (4,1abs)
1st Rix & Berry RICKSBURY POLDARK
Quality well balanced blenheim in good coat. Lovely dark eyes with kind expression, good reach of neck, moved freely with level top line, correct tail carriage and good turn of stifle, stood four square, maturing nicely.

2nd Potter TOYSWOOD MOONAGE DAYDREAM
Ruby with good round eyes giving lovely expression, moved well with drive showing a nice outline.

3rd Bayliss CASTLEWYTCH RED ADMIRAL

1st Ackroyd-Gibson TORAYLAC VALENTINO
Another quality youngster maturing well, very nice sized blenheim of 14 months, lovely head and expression, moved freely with good turn of stifle, keeping a level topline and tail carriage.

2nd Bayliss CASTLEWYTCH RED ADMIRAL
Blenheim with good expression, nice length of neck leading to level topline, moved freely and stood four square.

3rd Knight CAROLUS DON LUCIANO

Novice Dog (2)
1st Price OUZELWELL’S LIKELY LAD FOR ALMONROYD
Nice blenheim with pleasing head, good round dark eye. Sufficient reach of neck leading to level topline and good tail carriage, stood four square and showed well.

2nd Vandenreyt NOBEL DANCER’S HOLLISTER
This blenheim boy was up to size but had a nice expression. Not as balanced as could be but moved happily around the ring.

Graduate Dog (4, 1abs)
1st Biddle LUPHENEX LICK AND A PROMISE BY HEARTHLAND
Nicely proportioned tricolour with a kind expression, in good condition and moved well round the ring.

2nd Crossley TAMELINE DAWN APPROACH
Blenheim dog with nice round eyes giving a soft expression, has a good reach of neck. Good coat. Not as sound as could be today.

3rd Lister ROLL THE DICE TO CACHEVELL

Nicely proportioned tricolour, lovely head, good dentition, moved well round the ring.

Black & Tan with lovely head and expression, good broad chest, stood four square showing a good outline but seemed unhappy on the move today and reluctant to show.

Handsome, rich blenheim in good coat presented well, dark eyes giving nice expression, good depth of chest, pleasing outline on the move and standing, moved with drive, up to size but I could not deny him best dog and best opposite sex.

2nd Drewitt BRYMARDEN HONEYCOMBE AT JUDYLAND
Another handsome blenheim with pleasing head and expression, moved well holding a level topline, good turn of stifle, stood four square, nice overall shape.

3rd Waddington SPINDLEPOINT PRESIDENT JW

1st RBD Whitfield BEVELMOUNT RED BEAUJOLAIS JW
A quality balanced ruby with a lovely head and expression who moved with drive, stood four square and showed well. Good coat. Reserve Best Dog.

2nd Mangham CASTLEWYTCH PERFECTION OF CHARNAVALE
A nice tricolour with typical head and soft expression, moved soundly and showed well, preferred size of 1.

3rd Greenhalgh VERHEYEN APACHE AT LACERVALI Shcm

8 year old honest blenheim enjoying her day out, kind eyes, soft expression, good coat, still moving well, showed happily.

2nd Grist TRUEJOY ANGEL DELIGHT
9 year old tricolour with nice expression, in good coat preferred movement of 1.

1st BSVIS Turnbull PEAKDOWNS PENNY LAYNE
This blenheim, almost 11 years old, was really enjoying her day out. Nice head with soft expression, well bodied, still holds a good topline, good turn of stifle allowing her to move well. Best Special Vintage in Show.

2nd Knight CAROLUS LITTLE MADAM
Another nice oldie, 10 year old blenheim with honest expression, moving well with drive, just preferred head qualities of 1.

3rd Dawson WILLOWTUMP ATHELAS AT LUPHENEX

I loved this little baby as soon as she walked in the ring. Lovely sized quality blenheim of 7 months, nicely broken coat, with super head qualities, big dark eyes giving a sweet expression, good pigment, moved round the ring with purpose carrying her tail correctly, stood happily four square. I am sure she has a bright future. Very pleased to award her Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Show.

2nd Knight CAROLUS MISS VICTORIA
Attractive blenheim of 8 months with well framed head with nice dark eyes and good pigment. Well balanced with a good body and moved freely with good topline.

A very nice ruby bitch almost out of puppy. Lovely head with kind expression, good rich colour, good reach of neck, moved freely with level topline and stood showing a lovely outline. She showed happily for her owner/handler.

2nd Crossley CAROLUS MISS ELIZABETH
My ringside notes were identical to those for 2nd in previous class and now see they are litter sisters. Balanced puppy with a good body, moved well keeping level topline, nice head with good dark eyes and pigment.

Blenheim in good coat with nice head and expression, good shape, moved well round the ring, showed happily.

Another attractive blenheim with kind eyes giving typical expression, balanced body and moved with drive. Not as happy as 1.

Blenheim bitch with nice eyes, unfortunately movement was a little erratic today so difficult to assess. I would prefer her to carry more weight.

This lovely B/T bitch walked round the ring as if she owned it holding a level topline with good tail carriage, not the smallest of bitches but well balanced, in super coat, nice head with melting expression, good neck and shoulders, moved true both ways, stood happily four square for her young handler. Pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best in Show.

2nd Goodwin LANOLA SANTUZZA
Pretty, balanced quality blenheim with expressive eyes shown in good condition, moved true both ways holding a level topline.

3rd Bell CHISTABELLA PALOMA

This tricolour had a lovely head and nice round eyes. Moved well and carried her tail correctly.

2nd Owens PARKWALL LUNAR MOON
Blenheim who was enjoying her day out showing happily, moved ok. I preferred expression of 1.

Ruby of good size, in good coat, balanced body, moved well and stood four square. Head qualities could be more feminine but overall a nice bitch.

2nd Potter TOYSWOOD BLACKSTAR
B/T in good condition, nice head and eyes, moved freely and showed well.

3rd Rogerson MAGIRO DANCING IN THE DARK

A quality ruby with large dark eyes giving a pleasing expression, good pigment and rich coat colour, good movement and tail carriage, stood four square.

Splitting hairs between 1 & 2 because same comments apply to both bitches just preferred coat colour of 1.

Another quality bitch, blenheim with good feminine head qualities, good reach of neck, moved out with style keeping a level topline and correct tail carriage. Nice size. Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show.

Honest b/t in good coat, nice shape, moved ok.
