Supermatch 2016

Each year Northern Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Society hold their AGM at Poole In Wharfdale. This year we had observed a minute silence for Michael Brook (Lillico) a member of the Committee who had died suddenly on 22nd March. It is almost traditional that following the AGM and lunch, a Supermatch is held. Members who have exhibited their dogs at the two Open Shows during the previous year and obtain either a 1st 2nd or 3rd place are invited to compete.

This year was no different, 70 qualifying dogs were invited to attend. We did have a reduction in the number of dogs that qualified from the previous years and the Society would like to thank the core of members who showed their support by attending.

Easter had been earlier this years, however each exhibitor was given a chocolate bunny and a presentation of Easter Eggs for the Best in Match and Reserve Best in Match together with Rosettes.

The event, as usual, was friendly and after everyone had enjoyed a meal cooked by Mrs McFarlane, the Match commenced. Each year a mystery judge is appointed and this year it was Miss Carol Siddle. The steward working hard was our Secretary Ian Sidgwick. John Tranter, Sheila Hindle and Alison Walker looked after the entries, numbers and the running order to ensure that each person could maximise their fun.
